Description of technology

Network switches

RUCKUS ICX - are devices dedicated to the so-called campus, which includes access, aggregation and core switches. Various models are available depending on the need for copper ports, SFP / SFP+ ports, PoE / PoE+ / PoH, and 803.2bz interfaces. All ICX switches can be equipped with 10 GbE uplinks. Higher models support 40 GbE and 100 GbE interfaces. ICX switches can work as single devices, as a switch stack or as the so-called Campus Fabric. The technology of stacking switches has a limit of up to 8 devices for many manufacturers. In the case of Ruckus, it is up to 12 switches. In addition, ICX devices do not base stack communication on dedicated interfaces that cannot be used for any other function. The stack structure in ICX switches is supported on standard 10 Gbps SPF+, 40 Gbps QSFP+, as well as 100 Gbps connections, where the distance between switches can reach up to 10 kilometers. ICX switches support PoE+ and the latest PoH standards.

WLAN

RUCKUS CLOUD WI-FI - radically simplifies the configuration and management of WLANs. Cloud-based installations allow configuring, monitoring and solving issues with the entire WiFi network through a single dashboard or mobile application. Ruckus access points ensure investment protection, we can start from managing them using the cloud, and in the case of development we can migrate them to a solution based on physical or virtual controller.

RUCKUS MULTI-SITE-MANAGER - is helpful if you have multiple Unleashed groups. It is intuitive, easy-to-use software based on Linux system for creating and managing small WiFi networks in multiple locations. It allows the owners of Unleashed network to easily and securely monitor, manage and configure networks from anywhere in the world using a single sign-on.

RUCKUS SMARTZONE - is a new controller solution from Ruckus. Since version 5.0, Smartzone features a single user interface for managing wired and wireless networks. It enables implementation, monitoring and solving issues with access points and switches. It enables management of up to 10,000 access points per device, building reliability clusters (active-active) with support for up to 30,000 access points. In addition, it is possible to work in a multi-tenant mode, which allows creating separate business entities with dedicated controller services in highscale version, it is also possible to personalize the administrator screen. The solution features loved functionalities well-known from ZoneDirector controllers, such as GuestPass, DPSK and HotSpot 2.0. In addition, the embedded functionality of WiFi clients' diagnostics with a visual representation of the connection phase or the failure of connecting the client to WiFi network facilitates the work of administrators. Nowadays it is very important to define specific permissions for users connecting to our network. SmartZone solution supports the Role-Based Policy that allows granulation of network access policies depending on the user role.

RUCKUS UNLEASHED - are controller-less solutions dedicated to small and medium enterprises as well as clients with multiple small sites. In controller-less mode of Ruckus Unleashed, the automatically selected access point distributes configurations to other devices in the same network segment. Just turn on the power for one access point, configure it via predefined wireless network and connect other devices. The initial configuration takes only 1 minute. Configuration can also be performed via a mobile application. When working in Unleashed mode, Ruckus access points still have all of the unique, patented techniques such as BeamFlex+, ChannelFly or SmartCast.

RUCKUS ZONEDIRECTOR - is a controller solution from Ruckus, which until recently was the core of Ruckus wireless solutions. These controllers can manage up to 1,000 access points. Management takes place via an intuitive web interface. The solution enables using embedded user database and external user repositories. Well-known features such as Guest pass, HotSpot 2.0 or DPSK are on board.

Ruckus Cloudpath - is the answer to current issues with securing network access. This system allows easy management of certificates and security policies as well as connecting devices to wired and wireless networks. • Certificate management Cloudpath software includes a built-in, comprehensive Certificate Authority (CA) that enables any IT department to create and manage its own Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). A built-in RADIUS server and user database greatly simplify the installation, setup, and help in linking security policies with certificates. In addition to built-in functions, API and other mechanisms enable easy integration of Cloudpath with existing external CA infrastructures, RADIUS servers and user databases. • Security policy management Cloudpath provides administrators with a portal for creating granular security policies in the form of a flow diagram. The mechanism (Policy Engine) identifies the device and user permissions and applies appropriate rules to each of them. • Device Enablement The system allows to easily add users and devices assigned to them using the web portal. To increase the level of security, administrators can determine which devices and their necessary components in compliance with the security policy of the workstation have the right to connect to the network.
